Set in a slowly evolving upcycled world, Working Title: Pollus is a 60 minute show built for the outdoor public space. Made from upcycled industrial waste and secondhand items repurposed from the community, it uses high level circus skills to find magic in the mundane and confront audiences with their own waste. A free event made for families, the characters explore themes of home, hope and community, showcasing how our belongings can become valuable again if we give them a second life. After the final show, community members are invited to participate in a ‘trash-swap’ where they are welcome to take the donated items and give them a second life.
This project connects audiences and artists, showcases the work of Melbourne creatives, performs bold and engaging circus, provides free access to live performance for families and community members, and celebrates the environment in an unforgettable 60 minutes.
