Next show 1st July 2021, Gippsland

THE SHOW  -

STATERA

About - "Statera"

Our new show is jam-packed with innovative movements, ideas and stories.

With outside eye direction from Stephen Burton, and input from some amazing at-risk youth, this 50-minute physical theatre show is funny, highly acrobatic and quite a quirky quiddle!

The show has a strong focus on working with unique circus apparatus and experimenting with ways to make high impact circus acts tourable.

Through a collaborative creative process, we have slowly been developing a unique vocabulary of movement combining tightwire, tumbling and ground-to-air acrobatics on our original apparatus; Perspex Balance.

THE ACCESS TOUR

The ACCESS Project Info

(Accessibility, Circus, Community Engagement and Show Sandwich)

Statera’s ACCESS project will normalise accessibility in small scale live performances.

With help from physical and mental accessibility consultants and the mentorship of Arts Access Vic, we, Statera have adapted our full-length circus show to be completely accessible to as many different people as possible.

And - it's tourable!

How it works
  • Our shows are interpreted live via Auslan and audio description

  • To ensure ease of processing, we reduce instrumental sounds and the noises made by apparatus and performers on stage

  • The sound design will have a low dynamic range, minimising the use of high and low sound frequencies

  • The lighting is also simplified. With no strobe, blue and ultraviolet lights or dramatic transitions.

Our promise

We will give participants the confidence to watch the performance by ensuring all audience members can:

  • Make noises freely, without judgement

  • Come and go with clear and easily identifiable walkways and a dedicated usher to guide them should they need a break

  • Sit separately from others to reduce anxiety levels, with a maximum 80% audience capacity
